Following the successful implementation of the first UniStart program, we are delighted to announce the second edition – UniStart vol 2, a healthcare innovation competition designed for University of Split students who wish to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in the healthcare field.

Prior to launching the first UniStart program, we conducted a focus group with University of Split students. The students pointed out that formal education in Croatia often does not encourage the development of interdisciplinary skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, or the creation of innovative solutions – elements that are crucial for economic and technological progress. This is precisely why the UniStart program was designed: to foster creativity and collaboration in solving real-world healthcare problems through interdisciplinary teamwork.

Thanks to the exceptionally positive feedback from the first edition, where participants emphasized the importance of gaining practical knowledge and collaborating with industry experts, we have decided with great enthusiasm to organize UniStart vol 2.

What does UniStart vol 2 bring?
The program will take place on November 8 and 9, 2024, at the School of Medicine in Split, where participants will work over two days to solve a real healthcare challenge using the Design thinking method to devise creative and practical solutions.
Day One: Starting at 11:00, students will be introduced to a defined healthcare challenge. During a workshop led by experts from NetHub, teams will apply the Design thinking method to brainstorm innovative solutions. The workshop will last until 14:00.
Day Two: Teams will gather at 9:00 to work on prototyping and present their solutions to an expert jury during Demo Day. The best solutions and teams will win prizes, and all participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working on real-world problems while connecting with peers and industry experts. Demo Day will last until 13:00.
Applications for UniStart vol 2 are now open and available via this link; please note that spots are limited.
